1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, organization name, and role when you register.
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your card numbers.
  • Content: Class recordings, chat messages, poll responses, exam submissions, and other content you create or upload.
  • Student Data: Student names, contact details, and batch assignments added by institute administrators.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction patterns.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Attendance Data: Class join/leave timestamps, duration, and participation metrics.
  • Camera & Microphone: Accessed only during live classes and proctored exams, with your explicit permission.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Boardkast platform and its features.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send class reminders, notifications, and important updates.
  • To generate attendance reports, analytics, and performance insights.
  • To improve our platform, fix bugs, and develop new features.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure platform security.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these cases:

  • Within Your Organization: Institute admins and teachers can view student data, attendance, and exam results within their organization.
  • Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services:
    • Supabase (database and authentication)
    • Razorpay (payment processing)
    • DigitalOcean (cloud hosting and storage)
    • LiveKit (video infrastructure)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers in India (DigitalOcean BLR1 region and Supabase Singapore region). We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest.
  • Row-Level Security (RLS) ensuring multi-tenant data isolation.
  • Regular security audits and access controls.
  • Secure authentication with encrypted token storage.

5. Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 90 days of account closure upon request.
  • Recordings: Retained as per your organization's subscription plan. You can delete recordings at any time.
  • Chat Messages & Exam Data: Retained for the duration of your subscription.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and download your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and data.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications.
  • Withdraw consent for camera/microphone access at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

Boardkast is used by educational institutions that may enroll students under 18. Student accounts are created and managed by institute administrators. We collect only the minimum data necessary for educational purposes. Parents or guardians may contact us to review or delete their child's data.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
